Annamalai University is located in Annamalia Nagar; Tamil Nadu .the University was incepted in 1929 by Dr. Rajah Sir Annamalai Chettiar a great philanthropist and visionary which have the great desire towards the development of education in the state. This university is one of the biggest and oldest universities in south India. The university is affiliated by UGC. Annamala University provides several fields in higher education in science, arts, engineering and technology, Indian languages, medicine, agriculture, fine arts, dentistry etc. The directorate of distance education of Annamalai University is existence in 1979. The directorate of distance education aim is to provide education to those people who want to attend study on part time basis or correspondence.

University offers MCA programme under the distance education mode. This is master degree programme and duration of the programme is three years.

Eligibility Criteria for the MCA:

To get the admission for MCA the eligibility is the bachelor degree in Computer Application or science with minimum aggregated of 55% and above with mathematics subject at two levels. Bachelors with non computer background can also apply for MCA. Pass is the minimum requirement for reserved category candidates.

Selection procedure for MCA:

For the admission to MCA, the candidate is required to pass the University Entrance Exam. On the base of entrance examination merit list will be prepared. And the candidates who clear the examinations are called for group discussion or personal interview. The whole admission process is done by University. Candidates whose final year’s results are not declared will require to submitting true copies of mark-sheet which are attested by the competent authorities and after the declaration of Board results they will have to submit their mark sheet within five days else admission will cancelled.
