The university is established in 1921 and located in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. The university is affiliated by association of commonwealth universities, distance education council, National Assessment and Accreditation Council, association of Indian universities and university grant commission. They have total 107 affiliated colleges in Lucknow city these are as follows:Adarsh Balika Degree College,Amiruddaula Islamia Degree College, AP Sen Memorial Girls Degree College,Era's College Of Law,Era's College Of Management,Arjunganj Vidya Mandir Degree College, Aryavart Institute for Higher Education,Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Law College, Bhal Chand Institute of Education and Management,Bright Career Educational Institute, BSNV PG College ,Career College Of Management And Education.The university has yearly pattern courses but BBA and BCA courses have semester pattern. The duration of BCA course is 3 years full time programme.

Eligibility for BCA admission:  

The candidate must complete higher secondary or intermediate equivalent examination with 40 % marks for General and OBC category. For ST, SC candidate 36 % marks with mathematics as one of the subject. Only science and Math stream student are eligible. The university offers only 60 seats for admission.

Selection procedure:

The admission shall be done on the basis of merit of 12th standard marks.The Marks in percentage will be the aggregate of all the subjects.
