Tamil Nadu Open University was formed by the act of Legislative Assembly of Tamil Nadu in October 2002. University is beneficial for those who have been denied to access higher education, physically challenged, and working Men and Women.  The main motto of Tamil Nadu Open University is to provide higher education through distance mode to large segment of people. The main vision of University is make available innovative, socially relevant educational provisions that are learner, seamless and are of high quality by employing appropriate technologies to achieve equity in education. University offers more than 60 programs, which include undergraduate, professional, diploma, and postgraduate.

Tamil Nadu Open University offers one computer related bachelor course calls BCA which is Bachelor of Computer Applications. BCA is a 3 years full time bachelor course.

Eligibility for BCA admission:  

The candidate must complete higher secondary or intermediate equivalent examination with 40 % marks for General and OBC category. For ST, SC candidate 36 % marks with mathematics as one of the subject. Only science and Mathematics stream student are eligible.

Selection procedure:

The admission will be conducted on the basis of merit of 12th standard marks. The Marks in percentage will be the aggregate of all the subjects and procedure will carry out.

Project Work:

Students must have to work on various projects while the each Academic Year. The projects should have concern with the BCA subjects and working programs are expected from the students. By evaluating project work grades are awarded.

Assignments:

Students who get the admission in the University is mandatory to complete assignments which are related to BCA subjects. The assignments will be provided by concern subject teacher or faculties.

About course:

MCA (Master in Computer Application) is three year duration course in that six semesters are included. In each semester there are four to six subjects of theory and two- three subjects of practices arrange by Tamil Nadu Open University for MCA course.

Eligibility:

H.S.C pass candidate with first class (more than 60%) or with any subject complete with degree level are eligible to get admission for Master in computer Application course. First class pass Diploma holder also eligible for apply.

How to apply for MCA:

If the candidate eligible to take admission for MCA then collect form from Universities centers by paying form fee. After collecting form fill it and attach required documents and submit to center. Otherwise you can also submit form to centers of University via courier on Universities contact address within time period of form submission.

At the last year of MCA Education University arrange Practical project work for candidate to increase skill and knowledge. Candidate should must require to complete project work in given time period and get suggestion about project from experts before submit project.
