IGNOU is known as Indira Gandhi National Open University. This is a nationalized open university in India. University was formed in 1985 under the Indira Gandhi National Open University Act which was approved in Indian Parliament in 1985. IGNOU is located at New Delhi. The University offers nearly 175 different programmes which are of Diploma, Degree level. IGNOU also has 21 schools in all over India. IGNOU also has 2600 study centers across the India and 52 centers in abroad countries. The aim of the IGNOU is to provide the education to the people from rural area.
University also offers MCA progrmme under the distance education mode. MCA is stands for the Master of Computer Applications.
Eligibility for MCA:
This is a master’s course. The duration of the course is three years or six semesters. To get the admission in the MCA programme of the IGNOU candidate must have to pass the bachelors degree with minimum of 50% marks in the final year from any recognized University in India. The eligible B. Sc. courses are Computer information science, Computer application, Computer science and Information technology. Students who belong from the non computer courses have to pass the entrance examination of the University for the admission in the MCA.
The notifications for the admission are released in the month of May or June on the website of the IGNOU’s website. After getting the notifications interested candidate must have to fill up the admission from with followed by the instruction and have to submit with the documents before due date in the University office. After that University sort out the forms and depending upon the marks merit lists are displayed.
