North Orissa University Distance Learning MCA Admission

North Orissa University was established on 13 July 1998. The University is integrated in list of Universities preserved under the Section 2 (f) of UGC (University Grants Commission) Act 1956, for imparting higher education in Tribal base regions of the North Orissa. The jurisdiction of University is in two districts, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj. There are 80 associated colleges, catering to demand for higher education.

The teaching sections were established in year 2001. It has office, Counseling Cell, Library, Conference halls and Classrooms of its present building. The Library has sufficient books, journals, newspapers, and CDROMs with reading room facilities. Current Awareness is given to the Library users under supervision of the Library Organizer.

North Orissa University was recognized with objectives to provide quality professional education for all sections of students. There is noticeable shift for Government’s approach through regular campus of higher education for Higher Education via distance learning mode. Most important feature is introduction of different professional courses at distance learning mode for generating additional resources. In this relationship, department of the Higher Education, University Grants Commission, and Government of Orissa have advised University to produce additional resources through offering the distance learning courses as well as self-financing courses, etc.

Eligibility
MCA is a 3-years program for which the candidate needs to have graduation in any stream. It has 6 semesters with course fee of Rs. 7,500 per semester. 

Candidates who had passed the “A” level of DOEACC or PGDCA or PGDIT from any recognized University may be given admission directly to the third Semester of the MCA through Lateral Entry. The University study centers include Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, and Bhubaneswar. 

Admission Procedure
Application forms as well as prospectus need to be obtained either from University office or from Study Centers by giving Rs.300/- in the form of demand draft personally or through sending Rs. 350/- through demand draft by post favoring Comptroller of finance, at North Orissa University, payable at Baripada, from any nationalized bank.
