NSOU (Netaji Subhas Open University) is committed for reminiscence of Late Subhas Chandra Bose. An act was passed on 20 August 1997 and provisions were made for founding of the NSOU. It is a leading State Open University in India. It performs all its functions from its 4 offices, located in Kolkata. This university has wide network of the study centers across the country. There are around 145 study centers right now. At present, around 95,000 students are enrolled in Netaji Subhas Open University.
Netaji Subhas Open University provides a number of learning programs in associated disciplines at different vocational, certificate, bachelor’s and master’s levels. The University also provides doctorate programs in the distance learning formats. Netaji Subhas Open University has set up institutes in dissimilar parts of state and has broadened scope of numerous vocational, professional and online courses besides its on hand courses up to Ph.D. and M.Phil levels.
